Excelsior Henderson Super X Motorcycles 199-2000
This is a 1999 to 2000 Excelsior Henderson. The factory was located in Belle Plaine MN and built bikes for the 1999 and 2000 model years. The bikes came with a1386cc engine that was adapted from a Westlake racing V-Twin and had many features that were ahead of their time in ’99 including dual overhead cams, 4 valve heads, and closed loop fuel injection to name a few.
The art deco styling of the bikes including the unique anti dive springer front end were taken from the Excelsiors and Hendersonsbuilt in the 1920’s and 1930’s in Chicago.
Excelsior Henderson had hoped to capitalize on a long wait time for a new Harley-Davidson in the 90’s as some reported a two year wait list for new bikes. Excelsior Henderson produced just under 2000 bikes before the market cooled off, and the factory eventually closed for good.
Today, a dedicated group of enthusiasts are keeping the Excelsior Henderson Dream alive through the Excelsior Henderson Riders Club and host regular meets around the US. Parts are readily available from EHParts.net, and service is performed and a few authorized service centers in the US. Many owners perform their own service and maintenance with the support of a great network of riders across the US, Canada, and a handful around the world.
